Thistle Petit Point Kit by Animal Fayre Designer Tapestry Kits is an easy needlepoint design which can be a picture, a bag front, a cushion insert or a pincushion. Thistle is one of a collection of four beautiful historical designs which I redesigned for Traquair House from an old petit point panel dating from the Stuart Period. The original needlework is on a linen slip in teeny stitches.These have been kept for many years out of daylight and so many of the original colours have been preserved. An image of the Stuart petit point is in the gallery. The other designs are Acorn and Oak Leaf, Fruit and Leaves and Sweet pea, all are available as kits. Petit Point is sometimes called needlepoint and is always stretched on a frame. This kit is embroidered on 14HPI blank interlock mono canvas.
